  • Biography Rob’s song, “Common Jeans” won Second Prize and took the “Peoples’ Choice Award” at last year’s Tumbleweed Music Festival Song-Writing Contest in Richland, Washington. Not bad, considering that he’d never tried entering a contest before that. Originally from the state of Michigan, Rob was extremely active musically in his earlier years, performing in venues all around the Great Lakes Region. But then there was a relatively quiet decade or two where Rob didn’t get out much and could frequently be found hunkered over a guitar in a dark room trying to figure out how guys like Bruce Cockburn, Leo Kottke and Michael Hedges managed to do what they did. Now that this is mostly out of his system, Rob is back out in public again doing what comes naturally: learning, writing, laughing and accurately playing far more Bruce Cockburn tunes than one would ordinarily expect an individual to know. Still, Rob is somehow managing to find a good balance, so long as it involves finger-style guitar playing – ranging from his own tunes to songs from an astoundingly wide variety of artists.

  • Biography Doug Yule - fiddle, vocals Cary Lung - mandolin, vocals Tom Collicott - guitar & banjo, vocals Little Ann Yule - bein' a houn'dog, barking, eating Doug grew up on the East Coast playing and singing from an early age. In 1968, standing on the wrong street corner, he was captured by The Velvet Underground, a cult rock band, and served a three to five year sentence. On his release he continued his ill advised flirtation with rock and roll for another four or five years, finally retiring to do manual labor. On his fiftieth birthday he received a fiddle and three lessons from a rival and became addicted to the traditional music of the American Southeast. This dependency continues unabated today and finds a creative outlet in RedDog. When he's not kneed-up with RedDog playing tunes, Doug builds violins, violas, and (if his granddaughter keeps practicing) cellos. His instruments can be seen at Lasley & Russ' Violin Shop. Cary grew up in a small farm town in the San Joaquin Valley of California where there were more cows and vineyards than street corners. As a young boy he sang and harmonized with his grandfather. In the mid-1960s he met Kenny Hall, the legendary mandolin player, who became his mentor. Cary recorded two albums with the Sweets Mill String Band and, with the Portable Folk Festival, performed in coffeehouses and festivals across the country. In the late 70s he changed directions and opened a magical toy store in Tucson. He moved to Seattle in 2003 and retuned to his musical roots. Tom has spent most of his adult life in Seattle, Washington where he has carved out a successful career as a photo-illustrator and website designer. Tom picked up the guitar of his youth about 12 years ago. He found himself spending more and more time spellbound by the Southern roots music he was learning through the Pacific Northwest’s thriving old-time music scene. In addition to playing guitar and banjo in RedDog, Tom also performs with Seattle’s raucous Atlas Stringband.

  • Biography Eric Apoe · vocals and guitar The experience of Eric Apoe is a walk through a cinematic time capsule, his lyrical masterworks chill the soul and enlighten the mind. Comparisons to Tennessee Williams, Johnny Mercer, Mark Twain, Hank Williams, Dickens or Dylan are as appropriate as Billie Holiday, Eric Burden or Bob Marley. A Seattle born songwriter, composer and musician, with a genre blending musical aptitude that spans Jazz, Symphonic, Rock and Folk. Apoe spent a number of years touring with Cajun Fiddler, Doug Kershaw, developing a lifelong passion for American Roots music. As a staff writer for Chappell Music, Apoe co-wrote and worked alongside Tim Harden (If I was a Carpenter, Reason to Believe, Misty Roses), and Ron Davies, (It Ain't Easy, recorded by David Bowie). He also gained support and encouragement from two music industry legends, Tom Dowd and John Hammond Sr. To date Apoe has released 5 CD’s with his band ‘Eric Apoe and They’ and is working his 6th album, along with producing a Pacific North West tribute to Ron Davies, due out in the spring of 2011. Currently, Apoe is writing with Saar Liven, an Israeli singer/songwriter and producing a CD for Tommy Dean, a young Seattle songwriter who is wise beyond his years. Eric Apoe’s years of dedication and craftsmanship are clearly hewn into his pieces, with an ever adapting style and constant refinement that speaks to the heart of a true musician and rings in the soul of the listener. With poetic force and humorous paradox, Apoe is a Leonard Cohen for the Age of Unreality. Eric Apoe regularly performs in the Seattle area.
