- Biography Sassafras is the second iteration of the band previously known as Capuchon. We went dormant for a while after our guitar player got married and moved to Bellingham, but decided after a couple of years that we'd just had too much fun playing together, so switched some instruments around, grabbed Melanie Shelton (Cayenne, Sacalait) to play 't-fer and started anew. It's a little different and we're still having a lot of fun.
