This lively percussive dance form comes from the eastern mountain region of the United States, where it began as a mix of Irish, Scottish and English step dances with African and Native American influences. Some of the dancers learned clogging while living in the Appalachian region, others from performing groups throughout the United States. Each member brings their own energy and style to the group, hence the name, Eclectic! Members of the Eclectic Cloggers have traveled back east to dance camps and heritage festivals to connect with their traditional roots. Since 1982, the Eclectic Cloggers have performed at festivals and community events throughout the Northwest.
