  • Biography TusuyPeru dance group was born in Ellensburg, Washington, July of 2010. It was originated to celebrate Peruvian culture in the Northwest , United States. TusuyPeru pursues to bring you an imaginary voyage to the beautiful beaches, the wonders of the majestic Haciendas, and keep going to the elevated Andes continuing to the warm rainforest of PerĂş The name, TusuyPeru is a combination of two words; Tusuy in Quechua (ancient Peruvian language) means Dance and Peru is the name of the country that give us all of these different cultures and colorfull dances The director is a Peruvian Native dancer and ex director of "Sentimiento Peruano" dance group in Lima - Peru.

  • Biography We are group of Peruvian Women who now live in the State of WA (Tacoma and Gig Harbor). We are very proud of our Peruvian background and love to show our dances to the community. Our country has many diverse dances and not very well-known in this part of the country. We do dances from the coast which have African influence. We also do a beautiful dance from the Andes which we share with Bolivia. Our garments are authentic from Peru and have beautiful colors!!!

  • Biography Born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, Dora Oliveira has performed and taught Afro-Brazilian dance for over 25 years. Her career as a professional dancer began in 1976 when she joined renowned Brazilian folkloric dance troupe, Exaltao Bahia. Dora has been twice queen of Carnaval in Salvador and has learned a repertoire that ranges from Afro-Brazilian dance forms through jazz, ballet, and modern dance. After obtaining a professional dance degree from the prestigious Federal University of Brazil, Dora moved to the US where she has developed a large dance student following. Dora has toured the world as the principal dancer with Olodum the world famous samba bloc. She was featured on the opening credits and Brazilian dance episode of the PBS'' "Dancing" series, and choreographed the Afro-Brazilian performance of Seattle Theatre Group's Dance THIS! and Global Dance Party in 2011. Dora has dedicated her life to performing and teaching the many facets of Brazilian culture through dance and movement.
